Umberto House Catania

The property is historical which I love. The room was huge with a modern bathroom. The breakfast in a quiet garden area was continental style but the best was the amazing coffee and the lovely lady who made each order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good for sightseeing and had a fantastic street of restaurants only steps away - a fun area in the evenings.

I really liked the location, downtown but very quiet inside. We had a beautiful little balcony! Hotel is close to a beautiful little restaurant district! Was easy access and convenient. Hotel staff arranged a taxi to the airport for me and my sister on the morning of our departure. Hotel breakfast was outstanding! Loved the little outside courtyard to eat our breakfast in. The freshly made espresso was delicious and appreciated. Very nice lady working the breakfast counter. Hotel staff were super friendly!

I cannot fault anything - the staff were really friendly, the room was clean and decorated very nicely, the bed was really comfortable, and the location is excellent. I’d really recommend people to stay at this hotel!

We scheduled our stay late in the day after missing a flight back to the US. Luckily for us, we located the Umberto House, which only had one room available. The gentleman at the front desk was fabulous. He was a wealth of knowledge that helped us negotiate Catania better. He claimed that his English was poor but we were able to communicate with him without any trouble. The breakfast, which is included, was very nice and included coffee(s), teas, juice, water, assorted pastries, meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs,…I’m certain that I’m leaving things out but I trust that you understand that there were many options. The Umberto House is located in a perfect area that allows for easy walking to anything that you will want to do….shopping, eating establishments, gelato, granita, pastries, pizza and a lot of other fine dining restaurants. The Umberto house has a shuttle but we had to leave early (4:30 a.m.) to go to the airport. The shuttle was not operating at that time so they arranged for a taxi to pick us up. The taxi was on time and only cost us $25 euro to the airport. The shuttle was the same price. In closing, you cannot got wrong by choosing to stay at the Umberto House . The staff at this property were amazing. We booked this hotel last minute because e our flight was cancelled. They welcomed us right away. Our flight was diverted to leave from Comiso airport. They arranged a car to pick us up and drive us. They helped make the best out of a somewhat stressful situation. We were very grateful!!
